Who We Are

Hey there!

Circology is a studio specialising in materials research and circular design. A central aspect of our work is interspecies design – an approach that pushes the boundaries of human creativity by actively incorporating other living beings and their needs into the design process. Through interspecies exchange, we explore natural material cycles and metabolic processes, and how we can integrate these insights into our designs.

Our aim is to use this approach to develop new forms of circular economy and materiality that are more sustainable, functional and environmentally sound. Through the approach of cross-species design, we seek to foster an awareness of the coexistence and interdependence of all living beings – thereby contributing to ecological and social justice.

We work at the intersection of design, industry and science. Together with companies, research institutes and educational institutions, we are actively working towards a more mindful use of resources.

Weaving Networks

We work at the intersection of design, industry and science.

We see ourselves as translators and weavers. We work best when we are embedded in the expertise of other disciplines, connecting the dots, daring to ask naive questions. Making the interdisciplinary collaboration between design, science and industry a powerful and exciting force towards a more holistic and sustainable material future.
